Although many innovative beauty products do come across the Eluxe office desk, the majority of our brilliant beauty finds are actually lurking in our personal arsenals. Here, the Eluxe staff share their daily favourites: the makeup and skincare products they simply could not live without in this year. What this amounts to is an Eluxe summary of the Best Beauty Products of 2014. Who knows what 2015 will bring?

I am an eyeliner addict and every day, I apply this to my upper and lower lash-lines to enhance my hazel eyes.  Since I adore minimalist design, I have discovered French chic “Étoile filante” [shooting star] by Studio 78 Paris.  This pencil is enriched with organic beewax to help prevent dehydration, and contains organic lavender essential oil for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, perfect to maintain my delicate eyes and easily fits into my slim clutch too!

Every night, to remove my eyeliner, I apply a few drops of House of Zejd Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil to a cotton round.  The olive oil also doubles as a crème too as it nourishes the delicate skin around the eyes.  Since the oil is cold pressed, it has retained its natural vitamin E content – a beneficial skin nutrient.

I can’t leave the house without lipstick. I always have a tube of berry red or burgundy Essential Care lippy–very moisturising, and one of my favorites this year and last year too! I’m really into quite a few products I discovered in the past years. I still love Tilth Beauty for their aromatic toners, which I use to clean my skin after removing makeup with pure coconut oil, but for body skin, I’m obsessed–really obsessed– with Subtle Energies Skincare–I’m addicted to their smoky, woody essences, but also their thick richness, which my skin badly needs all year round. I tried their body cream last year and still use it, but this year, I discovered their Mogra & Indian Rose Gold Cream for the face, which is a dream come true. Apparently they’re releasing a new range and new packaging in 2015. Can’t wait!

This year, I was on camera quite a bit for Arise TV, so makeup is important to me. I really, really love FNUG and Organic M.A.K.E. by Charlotte Fnug Munksgaard, which makes me look great on TV. And since I’m one of those who doesn’t like to tan I’m grateful that I found truly remarkable sunscreen this year called CōTZ.

Not matter what, every day, I wear mascara at the very least, and my best discovery this year was my  AEOS volumising mascara in brown. Doesn’t smear, nourishes lashes and the dark brown looks less harsh on me than black as I have blonde hair.   I was a bit jealous to only get a small sample of the Queen of the Hive bee venom cream that came in a few months ago. It smells like wet flowers and though it warns you that it may ’sting', it actually feels really good on my skin. I’ve only just started using it, but I love the idea that something ostensibly venomous can bring benefits to your skin!

I don’t much makeup but wears Lakshmi natural rose perfume every day: not the Eau de Toilette, which doesn’t really last long, but the oil rich perfume, which is pretty, light and reminds me more of pink roses than red for some reason. I cannot live without Kari Gran Lip Whip in winter. It’s good enough to eat and keeps my lips from chapping. I’ve just started trying Kimia’s facial rejuvenation system, and am rather enjoying the light, slightly citrusy scents and pure feeling of the natural oils in their serums and facial oils. I know Kimia has been around for awhile, but for me, it was one of the best things I discovered in 2014.

I love cat eyes so almost every day I use a liquid liner to give my eyes a bit of a lift. I’m currently obsessed with Aeos organic defining eye liner, which was one of my favorite products this year.  I also pilfered a bit of the Luxsit goodies we got in the office, and I’m glad their organic body cream is around this winter to keep my skin soft. I don’t like anything too heavy or perfumed, and these organic creams feel like a protective silk veil on my skin–exactly what I need for winter.

As the only guy on staff, I’m obviously not too keen to raid the beauty product drawers. But I must say I was very pleased with my Abel Vintage 13 cologne samples I was given. Oh, and I use the Faith Aromatherapy hand wash in the bathroom, which is very nice. Does that count?
