Texas filmmaker Mark Brandon Smith was in northern Uganda, working with a non-profit that was teaching personal health and hygiene, when one of the locals asked him to show off his drone, a DJI Phantom 3, so he did.

The reaction was ecstatic, with the children cheering and screaming as the drone buzzed above them.

“The students loved it and kept asking for more once the drone landed. Though excited and curious, some of the children were also nervous as they had never seen or even heard of drones before,” Smith wrote.I quickly became a village celebrity; the locals would even make buzzing drone-like noises whenever walking past me on the streets!"

Smith said on his website that he has traveled to over 30 countries and worked with some of the largest NGOs in the world.
