Washington Market Tavern, which features American seasonal cuisine, recently opened in Tribeca. It is helmed by executive chef Aksel Theilkuhl, who trained under Laurent Tourondel at BLT.
The exterior at Washington Market Tavern was restored to maintain its 1937 landmark status, and also incorporates clean modern lines.
“Our goal was to create a restaurant that provides a feeling of familiarity and comfort, coupled with impressive cuisine and attention to detail,” said restaurateur Eric Schwimmer in a press release.
