DETROIT—Last year Divine Performing Arts’ Chinese New Year Spectacular came to Michigan for a one-night performance. This year the show is back for a two-day, two-show extravaganza on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.
The show drew rave reviews from artists, captains of industry, dancers, and musicians, both professional and otherwise. One such person was Gigi Atanasio, a professional violin teacher. When asked if she was enjoying the show she began with a single word, “Wonderful!” After a few moments of contemplation she continued, “The orchestra is very incredible! I would love to meet the orchestra and dancers.” She ended by noting that the music and dancing was very touching.
