A teeny dachshund with huge ambition is addicted to carrying humongous sticks in his mouth—the long branches dwarfing the tiny canine—to the amusement of all who see it.

Bosco the dog loves to go for walks with his owner, Ana-Luccia Iannucci Rodriguez, in green spaces near his home in London, England.

The little-legged pooch stands out in public because of his peculiar fondness for grabbing large pieces of wood in his mouth—pieces that span the whole width of the path, forcing hikers to step aside, or over, as Bosco plods through.

The sight is so adorably absurd that nobody seems to mind the nuisance. He elicits “awwwws,” grins, and joyful laughter from everyone.

Getting through the wooden posts at the gate proves tough, though; Bosco is checked stubbornly—but not for long.

The dog perseveres, to the cheers of his adoring audience.

Ana-Luccia captured his adorable antics on video and shared them on his very own Instagram page, which has attracted a massive following of 188,000 Instagram users.

As for what drives Bosco to go to such lengths, Ana-Luccia told Metro: “It’s obvious to us that he loves the challenge of carrying things, it’s as if it gives him a purpose.

“He also loves getting reactions from people, whether it’s claps, people smiling and talking to him, or people getting their phones out to film or take pictures of him.

“He will turn his head and give them a glance.”

As for when he became a living oxymoron, she shared: “He started carrying big sticks randomly at around seven months of age and has just continued ever since.”

Ana-Luccia often messages people that they do not force him to carry the sticks; he does so willingly—nay, with colossal enthusiasm.

It’s simply his “favorite thing to do.”

“He will happily try and try to pick up a stick at our expense waiting for him,” Ana-Luccia said. “He also specifically likes big sticks, if they are too easy he loses interest and will drop them.”

Having garnered fame online, Bosco’s antics have spread joy and amusement across the worldwide web.

“Over time we have built a loving audience who leave lots of comments and send me messages of support,” Ana-Luccia said.

“Some write they were having a rough day but seeing Bosco, his joy and funny antics makes them feel better.”

All that popularity might have been what Bosco had in mind all along.

“He is an attention seeker at home and in public and a big part of why he does it at all is for a reaction, perhaps not at the beginning but definitely now,” she added.
