A six-year-old boy from Georgia is winning hearts worldwide with his solid self-belief and future plans for America. In a viral video, he states that when he becomes the president of the country he will give all kids in school a three-day weekend.

Not only that, but Brodie Kenyon, who currently lives with his family in Moultrie, pledges to give free ice cream sundaes out every day and to build backyard pools.

Brodie’s mother, Jessica, 32, told The Epoch Times that her son, who attends kindergarten at Valwood, was very disappointed when he learned that aside from holidays, weekends last for only two days—and they will always be just two days long.

“He said there needs to be one extra day added to our weekends,” Jessica said. “I told him that I agree but he needs to take it up with the government.”

She then suggested he make his case on a video and so he did.

In a video that was recorded and posted on Jessica’s Instagram account on Feb. 4, Brodie goes on to explain how he has been protesting because two days off from school is simply not enough.

“Hey, I’m Brodie and this is for the government,” he said. “I’ve been tired of school lately and I’ve been dreaming of three days off. ... I need time to just play and go with nay nay (grandma) and stay home and do whatever I want outside.”

Since its posting, the video has garnered over 600,000 reactions and amassed plenty of supportive comments from netizens.  Many people agree that five days a week is a lot of work for a six-year-old.

“They also agree that kids need more time to play,“ Jessica told The Epoch Times. ”Playtime, being outside, and spending time with grandma is very important. Who could argue with that?”

On learning how much love and support the video received, Jessica said her son was “over the moon.”

“He immediately went into presidential mode and is still there,” she said.

A week after the video was posted, the supportive mom set up a petition calling for a nationwide three-day weekend, on Brodie’s behalf. At the time of writing, an impressive 1,500 people have signed it.

Jessica, who 100 percent supports Brodie’s case, said that her son initially wanted to be a storm chaser, however now he wants to become president of the United States.

“[H]e is standing firm on his fight for a three-day weekend,” Jessica said. “He says he isn’t backing down until it happens.”

After whipping up a bit of a storm on social media and attracting the attention of local news, Brodie went on to chat with Congressman Buddy Carter on a video platform on Feb. 18.

Carter told the young Georgian how impressed he was with his political aspirations.

“Brodie was so excited but also took it very seriously,” Jessica said of Brodie’s meeting. “He was on cloud nine when the meeting was over and asked me if he had another meeting lined up.”

Jessica describes Brodie as “a great kid who truly deserves to be heard.”

Whether or not he ever wins his case for a three-day weekend, she is extremely proud of her little man.

“He has learned how to advocate for something he believes in and he has displayed incredible leadership skills at only six years old,“ she said. ”I pray that he continues to lead and use his voice for good and that he never stops believing that anything is possible!”
