This week restaurateur Shelly Fireman opened a new Italian restaurant downtown named Florian, designed to reflect the atmosphere of Tuscany. It features sculptures from Fireman’s own personal collection.

Inventive and authentic Italian dishes are on the menu, from Lasagna Ossobuco to a House Made Sausage and Caramelized Onion Pizza, with an egg in the middle. An antipasti vegetable menu makes use of seasonal vegetables sourced from the Union Square Greenmarket.

The beverage program includes negronis as well as house specialties like an artichoke-based amaro cocktail, The Botanica.
