This Color Test Will Reveal All You Need to Know About Your Dominant Personality Traits

July 31, 2020 Updated: July 31, 2020

Have you ever noticed that sometimes your mood is affected by the colors in your surroundings? Perhaps a pale blue waiting room inspires a feeling of calmness; meanwhile, an item of clothing in hot pink makes you feel brave, or perhaps a space accentuated by excessive black feels oppressive.

Isaac Newton’s 1704 book “Opticks” gave birth to the idea that every color on the spectrum has its own meaning and application, giving rise to an entire field of science and psychology dedicated to color. Your favorite color, by extension, can reveal much about your dominant personality traits.

Red

If you chose red, you live your life to the fullest, relishing every moment. You are a risk taker and often chase physical experiences such as extreme sports, or maybe a regular gym routine.

Red lovers are also often action-oriented, ambitious, and make excellent natural leaders.

Blue

If blue is your favorite color in the swatch then you crave harmony in your life. You put others before yourself, you are level-headed, clean, and tidy, and the people around you often look to you to be the voice of reason.

In Western cultures, blue is typically associated with calmness and serenity, explains Invaluable, the world’s leading online marketplace for fine arts, antiques, and collectibles.

Green

People who love the color green are often affectionate and loyal, and hold honesty in the highest regard. Green lovers are nature lovers, they are objective, and they make good team players.

If you love green, the chances are that you are quietly optimistic about life and about the future.

Yellow

Yellow can represent strong emotions, explains Invaluable, from cheer and warmth in moderation to frustration and anger in abundance.

If you chose yellow, you are open, imaginative, and enjoy adding to your arsenal of already extensive knowledge. You are emotional, and happiness comes easily to you. You hold your tight-knit group of friends very close to your heart.

Purple

You are driven by your artistic impulses, according to Color Psychology. You respect others and always trust your reliable intuition when meeting new people.

You have a tendency to be a perfectionist, but not at the expense of your desire to be useful to others; you are, at your core, a humanitarian.

Brown

If brown is your favorite color then you are a loyal, stable friend to others. You have simple tastes and a low-maintenance lifestyle, according to Psychology Today.

You are naturally frank and open with the people around you; masking the truth has no appeal to you. Family comes first, and you may even invest a lot in home life with a little land and somewhere to grow your own food or raise animals.

Black

If you chose black, you have an introspective, artistic leaning and are probably more sensitive than you care to let on. You can be a bit of a control freak and do not share your life easily with others. Others would describe you as proper and polite.

Black absorbs all colors, according to Parhlo. However, another interpretation of this is that black represents all colors. It’s deep, just like you are.

White

People who feel drawn to the color white are often organized and logical. These people keep tidy homes and do not have a great deal of excess baggage in their lives.

If you chose white then you are refined and elegant, and it is likely that you hold high expectations for both yourself and others. Most people would also refer to you as an old soul.
