TAINAN, Taiwan—Head of the Fucheng Youyou painting group, Mr. Zhou Meihua, attended Divine Performing Arts’ fifth show in Tainan City with colleagues, on Feb. 22.

He said, “The artistic form of Divine Performing Arts promotes orthodox Chinese culture, it gently calls the audience toward kindness; the audience [members] forget themselves and are purified while watching.”

Zhou Meihua is an active and enthusiastic member of the local art community in Tainan. He explained that the physique of the dancers, their costumes, colors, and the backdrop were all pleasing to both the eyes and the heart. He said he especially paid attention to how the MCs of the program were able to live out the phrase “When in Rome, do as the Romans do,” saying that they merged into local customs and thought processes, making the audience feel very close to them.

He also praised how the dancers, colors, backdrop, and music all matched in such an interesting and exciting way, “Excellent!” The performance he liked the most was Pigsy’s from The Monkey King Triumphs. He said, “The actor who played that role truly brought the character to life!”
