YUNLIN, Taiwan–The Deputy Magistrate for Yunlin County, Mr. Lin Yuan-Qiun, attended the premiere performance in Yunlin of the Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company on April 21. After the show he talked about what he admired most about the show-that Shen Yun pays great attention to details.

This was Mr. Lin’s second time seeing Shen Yun, so he was aware that he would be seeing a show of high quality. He described Shen Yun as an excellent show, saying: “Each of the programs was excellent and sophisticated, particularly the pieces about the minority ethnic groups. To us this is a different way of presenting [performing arts]. It’s rather novel. As for the vocalists, they were astonishing and great to listen to. There’s no doubt about it.”

Mr. Lin was of the opinion that Asian people often don’t pay much attention to minor details. Shen Yun, however, proved to be the contrary. He said: “I’ve been saying this [that Shen Yun] is a very good show and that’s hard to come by. Attention is paid to every detail and so we can see the dedication. This kind of attitude truly touches people. In Taiwanese terms, it’s called Ding Jin. That means having real dedication to one’s work. Everyone [each performer] pays meticulous attention to details and as a result, the entire presentation really moves people’s hearts.”

The dance Nothing Can Block the Divine Path was the most moving for Mr. Lin. “I almost cried when I saw the mother and daughter persecuted. From the angle of human rights, that is so wrong. With the current advancement of civilization, it is incredible to the world’s people that Falun Gong is persecuted [in China]. I think this needs to be changed,” Mr. Lin said.

He pointed out that the arts had not been a big thing in Yunlin County in the past and that it was good to see the county Magistrate Ms. Su Chih-Fen promoting the arts culture locally, in particular, her invitation to Shen Yun to come to Yunlin. Mr. Lin said: “Shen Yun can bring harmony and peace to the human heart and it helps to elevate people’s mind nature. It’s such a great show and it’s just in the vicinity, so I encourage the Yunlin residents to come and see it.”

Seeing the full house of the premiere performance, Mr. Lin said happily: “I’m grateful so many have come to see the show!”
