Sharing Spirituality Through Shen Yun Brings Us Together, Says Theatregoer
Denise Collier and her daughter Teyla were thrilled with Shen Yun’s performance at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa on Dec. 30, 2017. Ms. Collier said she’d love for her daughter’s best friend’s family, being from China, to see a Shen Yun performance. (Rahul Vaidyanath/The Epoch Times)

“I’m loving it; I’m loving it. My daughter was just saying, ‘The screen [animated backdrops] is so cool!’ That technique where they are going off into the distance becoming a part of the screen and then coming back out of it again—it was exceptionally well done.”

“I actually enjoy very much the stories … and about how some of these stories, they would not be allowed to present in China, and it’s a gift to be able to present it here and actually enjoy it.”

“I personally am a spiritual person; I do believe in divine beings so I think it’s quite interesting to see that [spirituality in Shen Yun].”

“The various cultures around the world have that [belief in divine beings] in common, share that spirituality, so I think it brings us together and gives us a common background. We’ve never been there [China], or never met, and yet we still share that similarity that goes through it all.”
