NANTES, France—The former capital of the Dukes of Brittany continues its immersion in 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.
“During the first part of the show, we gradually enter this universe,” explained Mr. Oger. “In the second part, we are completely immersed, and the intensity continues to grow. It’s truly fabulous and very moving! Shen Yun is a beautiful show!”
But beyond the aesthetic effect, the lawyer said he was “very sensitive to the values and messages conveyed” in the paintings: “All the stories revolve around giving, the act of giving, being able to sacrifice oneself and caring for others.”
Mr. Oger also noted “kindness, listening, looking up from your cell phone just a little bit to look around you.”
For the lawyer, “man finds himself in art,” and Shen Yun is thus “a way to reveal oneself and share.”

‘The Divine References Are Clearly Perceptible’
Yves Corteel was also present at the Cité des Congrès in Nantes. The business leader discovered “a beautiful and harmonious show. I particularly appreciated the colors of the costumes and the overall harmony that emanated from all the artists.”Shen Yun means “the beauty of living beings dancing,” as it pays tribute to the ancient Chinese belief in a culture passed down by the gods. Everyone, from the humblest peasant to the most prestigious emperor, praised and honored the gods and respected the harmony between Heaven, Earth, and Man.
By reviving this traditional culture, Shen Yun places the connection to the divine at the heart of its dance and song performances.
For Mr. Corteel, it is “important” to pass on this spirituality: “There is always a connection between tradition, the divine, and the harmony that one can feel in one’s life.”
Therefore, the business leader believes that Shen Yun “inevitably brings harmony to people who appreciate the show.”
In addition to the harmony felt in the show, Yves Corteel also identified “a message of hope, kindness, and tolerance that is very important, especially in the world we live in today.”
“Topics related to tradition, culture, and the connection with the divine always inspire me greatly,” concluded Mr. Corteel. “I think it’s an important journey, at least for me. I don’t know about others, but if the world could share a little more kindness, that would certainly be a good thing!”
