Gerrit Konijnenberg, a telecom expert, drove from Luxembourg with his daughter and son-in-law to see New York-based Shen Yun at Galaxie Amnéville on Dec. 18.
Mr. Konijnenberg said he was very happy that Shen Yun was being performed.“Although it took an effort [for us] to get here from Luxembourg, I look at the world tour, and I think it’s fantastic that they [are spreading] this old culture,” said Mr. Konijnenberg.
“It’s enriching for us, it’s eye-opening, it shows a different side of China than the usual picture of industry,” Mr. Schaus said.
Although China was once known as the land of the divine, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s ideology is rooted in Marxism.“I am not a big fan of communism, so I think it is going to disappear to the dustbin of history sooner or later,” he said.
“It was a fantastic harmony of music and dance. This is wonderful. We were impressed by how well the [digital] screen matched the dances. The technology, that’s synchronized [is] perfection,” Mr. Schaus said.
Mr. Konijnenberg said he enjoyed the beauty of the Water Sleeves dance.“The Water Dance, it was really smooth, beautiful dancing, and the music, very romantic music, I really liked it,” he said.
Shen Yun puts on an all-new production every year. The expressive qualities of Chinese classical dance make storytelling easy for the audience to follow.
