FRANKFURT, Germany—On the evening of May 2, Shen Yun Performing Arts presented its inaugural performance of the year in Frankfurt, Germany, at the Jahrhunderthalle (Centennial Hall). Among the audience were Simin, a Chinese student studying in Germany, and her mother.

Simin, who requested to be identified only by her first name for safety reasons, and her mother were both deeply moved by what they saw, with the mother at times overcome with emotion.

For Simin’s mother, it was her first time experiencing Shen Yun. Speaking through tears, she said, “I feel that Shen Yun really came from heaven. We are immensely grateful—truly so grateful!”

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired heritage and share with audiences the beauty of “China before communism.”
Simin’s mother was full of admiration when describing her impression of Shen Yun. “Every program was truly wonderful,” she said. “The performances, choreography, backdrop, and the musicians’ artistry—it was all flawless. I really feel this is not something ordinary people can do. The energy was incredibly strong; we could genuinely sense it.”

Deeply moved, she added, “I believe only the divine could accomplish something like this. It’s so perfect—you can truly feel that powerful energy here. I am sincerely grateful for their efforts, and I want to thank the artistic director for bringing such a magnificent and beautiful show to the world.”

Simin, who had seen Shen Yun before, also shared her impression. “I’ve seen it previously, and I thought it was fantastic,” she said.

Her mother echoed that sentiment, while also expressing regret that such a performance is not available in mainland China. “It’s such a pity that we cannot see this kind of wonderful performance in mainland China. It’s truly regrettable. I don’t even know how to express my excitement—thank you, Shen Yun. I truly feel it is something that has descended from heaven.”

She continued to express her gratitude repeatedly, adding, “It’s really perfect. The coordination of costumes and accessories is so refreshing—absolutely perfect. Thank you so much. I can feel the kindness it conveys, the love that is honored throughout the universe. I am deeply grateful from the bottom of my heart.”

Simin also expressed hope that more people from China would be able to see the production. “I see very few Chinese people here. I hope more Chinese people can come to see it,” she said.

Her mother agreed, saying, “The message it conveys—‘Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance’—if it could be embraced and practiced in mainland China, that would be incredibly fortunate.”

She added, “In today’s climate, Shen Yun still manages to bring Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to audiences around the world. That is truly remarkable and admirable.”

At the conclusion of the interview, both mother and daughter once again expressed their appreciation for the performers. Simin said, “I hope they can persevere and continue this tradition, not let it end with one generation. I hope their journey continues.”

Her mother added, “I hope Shen Yun’s performances can one day become a reality everywhere in the world. I truly look forward to that moment—it would be a celebration for the entire universe.”
