KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—Mr. Lin Yuan-yuan, senior adviser to president attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company’s 2010 premiere at the Kaohsiung County Labor Recreation Center on April 10, 2010. After watching the show, he highly praised Shen Yun’s dances, costumes and music. He exclaimed, “Very beautiful! Well organized! High-class show!”

As he has been to China a couple of times and seen Maiao ethnic dance performance in the past, Mr. Lin especially praised Shen Yun, saying, “The dancing program In a Miao Village fully demonstrated the characteristics of Miao tribe. I think the performance was very appropriate, very practical and very beautiful!”

“Shen Yun’s dancing skills and performance techniques were superb, ... It was indeed a high level and touching show,” he added.

Expressing his views on the fact that Shen Yun’s program illustrates the 5,000-year Chinese culture to showcase the divinely-imparted (Chinese) civilization, Mr. Lin said that Shen Yun has exquisitely illustrated Chinese civilization and legends of various ethnic groups. He especially mentioned the program Wu Song Battles the Tiger, as it vividly interpreted the essence of Chinese culture.

Talking about Nothing Can Block the Divine Path, a program depicting the plight that Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted due to their unyielding belief, the senior adviser praised, “To promote a brief by means of artistic form is easier for people to accept it.”

In conclusion, Mr. Lin expressed that he would recommend more people to appreciate Shen Yun’s performance. He said, “I hope that everyone can come to see (Shen Yun show) if possible.”

In addition to serving as senior adviser to the incumbent president, Mr. Lin was previously the sixth and seventh magistrate of Kaohsiung County, representative of the National Assembly, policy committee member of Taiwan Provincial Government, adviser of the Executive Yuan, vice-chairman of the Kaohsiung County Branch of the Chinese National Party (KMT) and principal of National Cishan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational Senior High School
