KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—Mr. Lin Yushui, president of Fengshan Rotary Club, Rotary International District 3510, attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s fifth show in Kaohsiung on the evening of March 15, 2009. After seeing the show, Mr. Lin said in admiration, “Seeing Shen Yun’s performance, we found great compassion and tolerance, making us feel our hope for the future. It is worthwhile to see Shen Yun time and again.”

As an entrepreneur active in public service and enthusiastic about helping the needy, Mr. Lin has made it his concern to help disadvantaged groups. After learning that Shen Yun was going to perform in Kaohsiung, he offered some tickets to orphans in the Yongan Orphanage. He attended the Shen Yun show on the evening of March 15 with his fellow Rotary Club members and some of the orphans.

He said that it was a precious opportunity for them to be in this very practical and educational environment, so that they were able to benefit from it. It would also have a positive impact on the entire society.

Commenting on the coordination of the colors of costumes and the backdrops, he said that they were really wonderful, because the backdrops and dancers matched perfectly, making the audience feel like they were in a divine realm.

He said that the program impressed him the most was Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution, and that he was touched by the leading role’s steadfastness in his belief. It took great perseverance and conviction to face persecution without fear, so this program deeply touched his heart. He also mentioned that we should be steadfast in our beliefs and convictions, and that if we have a firm belief and persist, divine beings would come to help us.

Talking about the tenor and the alto, Mr. Lin expressed that the male vocalist’s voice was so resonant and powerful that he felt like a mighty force uplifted him up to the sky. The female vocalist’s voice was very solid and resounding, so he felt a momentum that pushed him upward as well.

He truly felt the beautiful essence of the 5,000-year-old Chinese culture presented by Shen Yun. Mr. Lin added, “I took the children to see the show today, and I believe they were able to feel the strong conviction implied in the performance, and that they would have been deeply touched by the profundity of the 5,000-year Chinese culture.”
