An anguished mama dog was wailing and barking next to a severely injured puppy on the corner of a street. Luckily, volunteers from an animal rescue group arrived as soon as they got a call and took the little puppy along with them. With love and care, they nursed him back to health.
In early 2019, the rescue group received a call that a puppy was injured. Volunteers from the group immediately rushed to aid.
As a volunteer from the non-profit approached the puppy, the mama dog “seemed to trust” him with “her baby.” The little one was in so much pain that whenever the rescuer touched him, the canine couldn’t help but cry in suffering. However, what was even more heartbreaking was that the mamma dog, who couldn’t see her little one in such discomfort, was wailing too.
The rescuer gently picked up the injured puppy and took him to a van, after which they transported him to the rescue center. According to the video, unfortunately, they couldn’t take the mother along as she had four other newborns to care for.
At the rescue center, the little hurt puppy was examined by a veterinarian. As it turned out, he had “two deep puncture wounds on his shoulder.” The veterinarians then proceeded to treat his wounds.
As he was in so much pain, the pooch, which was named Toggle by rescuers, couldn’t even walk but was brave and never struggled through his wound dressings.
Meanwhile, the rescue team was concerned that Toggle’s injuries might have caused permanent nerve damage. However, that wasn’t the case, and the little one made a swift recovery. According to the non-profit, he needed “rest, food and love,” which eventually helped nurse him back to health.
Not long after, Toggle made attempts to walk, although it wasn’t easy. The brave little puppy was not one to give up and continued trying.
In a few days, the adorable puppy made a full recovery and was walking around and giving his rescuers puppy kisses. While the volunteers from Animal Aid Unlimited had gotten attached to Toggle, they knew “someone was waiting for him back home.”
After the organization helped Toggle reunite with his family, they noted they would keep an eye on them all and spay the female after the puppies were a little older.
The amazing rescue video that was posted on YouTube amassed over 83 million views touching the hearts of social media users. Over 90,000 people took to the comments section to express how touched they were by the dog’s motherly instincts along with the fantastic work the rescuers did to save the injured puppy’s life.
One such comment read, “The mother cried for her baby with such emotion. Happy to see them rescued together.”
While another wrote, “What lovely gentle people, God be with them and bless them for their kindness.”
And one particular heartfelt comment read, “If I was a billionaire, I would have donated over millions already to this animal aid organization.”
