HIROSHIMA, Japan—Shen Yun Performing Arts uplifted the audiences in Japan on the afternoon of Jan. 3. The theatergoers said that they felt the power of benevolence from the show.
“The feeling that Shen Yun gave me is beautiful. Purely beautiful. I can’t find a more suitable word to describe Shen Yun,” said Mr. Fujita Hironori, president of Hiroshima City Architectural Design.
“Shen Yun’s costumes and choreography are very beautiful. The dancers are full of power, and the movements are very neat,” Mr. Fujita continued. “Especially the jumping, flipping, and tumbling. They are very beautiful.”
Powerful Energy
The name Shen Yun translates into “the beauty of divine beings dancing.” Its mission is to revive the authentic beauty and goodness of China before communism, according to Shen Yun’s website.“I felt a lot of energy [from Shen Yun]. I feel I’m younger and more alive after attending Shen Yun,” said Mr. Yoshida.
Mr. Wada Yuji is the overseas business director of the famous Japanese KITAGAWA IRON WORKS. He attended Shen Yun with his wife on Tuesday and said: “[Shen Yun] made my new year vacation!”
“I am so touched! It’s really so beautiful,” Mrs. Wada added.
Amazing Backdrop
One of Shen Yun’s unique features is its patented backdrop technology. The backdrops are like magical windows that infinitely extend and transform the stage, as described on its website, and attested by the audience members.“I’m fascinated by the cooperation between the backdrop and the stage,” said Ms. Nakagawa Yoko, a senior video producer. “[Shen Yun’s backdrop] should be the most advanced technology in the world.”
“It’s very common that a backdrop is animated. But interactions between Shen Yun’s stage and backdrop is really very exciting!” she said.
“I was shocked by the backdrop! The dancers entered the backdrop suddenly, but came back to the stage after a while!” said Ms. Kawamoto. “It’s amazing that we can receive the messages from the backdrops. It’s like a combination of fantasy and reality, which is very interesting.”
“After watching Shen Yun, I really feel that I will work harder from tomorrow,” said Mr. Imamura Narihiro, the president of a real estate company. “I’m very happy to have com here. I received the energy [from Shen Yun] and will cherish more of my life.”
The Shen Yun Performing Arts World company played two sold-out performances this season at the Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen HBG Hall in Hiroshima, Japan on Jan. 2 and 3. The audience didn’t want to leave after the show. The applause continued and the Shen Yun artists took two curtain calls.
