Musician Finds Shen Yun Orchestra Heart Expanding

October 22, 2017

“It all feels a bit mystical. … It takes me away when it goes into those [Chinese] parts. It takes me away to another place.”

“[It takes me to] a colorful place, a colorful, ancient kind of place. It is like very exotic, when it comes to those Chinese parts.”

“Heart-expanding—it hit an emotional trigger and that kind of expands out.”

“It is like the music hit a point, and then in those specific moments and notes, then … [the] internal experience, … expands out, and it gets more like three-dimensional.”

“There are a lot of new things for me in there—the space between notes.”

“Just hearing the way in which they played the melodies. I mean I play flutes. So to hear the [Chinese] melody—it is inspiring to see new way of playing melodies, the space between notes and how it is used.”
