A young wellness and mindset coach in Australia is transforming lives by bringing people joy and confidence, and by leading them to blossom into their best possible versions.

Although new to this field, the charming woman has mastered how to unlock her clients’ full potential and load them with the capacity to navigate through their daily life challenges. She says her secret key lies in the universal values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

Amy Kingi, 30, a Sydneysider who grew up in sunny Queensland, runs the “Mindset for Health” coaching platform to help people safely release their emotional baggage and trauma whilst assisting them to uncover new learnings from their experiences and adversities.

“I’ve always been interested in human potential, and the power of our thoughts to affect our reality,” Amy told The Epoch Times in an email interview.

The Spring of Motivation

Amy, who mostly runs her session online, endeavors in creating life-changing experiences for others and says her motivation comes from seeing how her efforts positively add to her clients’ lives, impacting their well-being—physical and mental.

“Whether the change is big or small, knowing that I can assist people to live a life aligned with their values, and understand themselves better, encourages me to keep doing what I am doing,” she said.

As a guide, Amy says she strives to take people on a journey from where they are to where they want to be by empowering them to realize their value-based goals and then take aligned actions based on what they would like to experience more in the future.

“I hold space for people to keep them safe during their transformation,” she said.

The young lady is full-time dedicated to making a confident change in other lives, enabling them to find the anchor to inner peace and joy. However, she herself suffered from anxiety through her teens until she came across a meditative practice 11 years ago while working on a tomato farm in rural north Queensland.

“My anxiety completely disappeared once I started practicing Falun Dafa,” Amy said.

“The power of the mind has always intrigued me,” she said, “and I was always looking for a way to positively harness that power, and I found that way in Falun Dafa.”

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient mind-body meditation practice based on the tenets of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The self-improvement discipline, which was first introduced in China in 1992, is now freely practiced in over 100 countries worldwide.
Amy said as she began practicing the five sets of exercises of Falun Dafa and studying the book Zhuan Falun, she experienced a calming energy field around her.

“The teachings of Falun Dafa instruct us to maintain a mind of tranquility and good thoughts,” Amy said. “I can relate this to Mindfulness which is now commonly practiced, as both require you to be consciously aware of your mental state, and consciously change your mental state if it is not serving you, which is a very empowering thing to do.”

“The teachings of Falun Dafa encourage us to look within ourselves to discover any shortcomings and work on them, which is very empowering as it puts the power to change in the hands of the individual rather than putting it in someone else’s hands by playing the victim of circumstances,” she added.

Core Life Values for Every Coach

Amy strongly believes that “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance” are principles every coach should live by, and she strives to imbibe these values in her daily work and life.

“As coaches, we need to be honest and let our clients know if we feel they are selling themselves short or making excuses for themselves,” Amy said.

However, she admitted that these are “not easy conversations to have,” but this is exactly what clients pay them for.

Amy believes that when a coach is truthful, they have the capacity of assisting their clients from a place of “caring and compassion, rather than judging and criticizing.” Through this selfless support rooted in kindness, clients can feel the positive intent behind a coach’s guidance and are more likely to be receptive rather than defensive.

As a passionate mentor, Amy firmly believes that it is necessary for a coach to be tolerant, the third core value that she strives to adhere to.

“A coach’s job is not to offer advice or solutions, but to ask quality questions to guide our clients to find their own solutions within themselves,” she said.

Of course, this isn’t something that can be easily achieved, as a coach can be tempted to share their solutions to a certain problem, but they still have to be patient and be able to provide the clients with that much-needed time gap for self-reflection while they arrive at their own insights and understandings of their life situations.

Additionally, she said coaches should have the breadth of mind to accept their client’s understanding even though it might be different from theirs.

“I am always honest about what I believe I can offer a person, and if I feel that I am not the best coach for a client, then I am happy to refer them on to someone who I think would be a better fit for them,” said the young coach.

Mindset Matters Amid the Pandemic

While the world struggles amid the unprecedented crisis owing to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus, Amy says that it’s definitely not been an easy time for those who are prone to overthinking.

“There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment. The reality is we can’t change what is going on at the moment with coronavirus, so why not focus on what is going well in our lives?” Amy said.

Lending a handy piece of advice on how to navigate through such uncertain times, Amy says keeping a positive mindset is the key.

She said: “Why not focus on what is going well in our lives? What do you have to be grateful for? And if you are going to focus on something unpleasant, make sure you can do something about it, and make sure you only focus on it for long enough to come up with a solution and move forward.”

Talking about her secret to living a happy and fulfilling life, Amy shared that it is important to realize that as individuals we are all at different places of life, and what might work for one person might not for the other.

However, she emphasizes having a sense of purpose is definitely beneficial to all.

“I get my sense of purpose from my spiritual practice of Falun Dafa, as well as living in integrity with my values and working in a job that I love,” Amy said.

“Different people can experience a sense of purpose from different things, but I do believe it is an important component for a happy and fulfilling life.”

Amy advises that it’s very important to take a moment of pause and celebrate how far you have come rather than how far you have to travel on the path ahead.

“It is through celebrating our victories that we feel the motivation and encouragement to keep going and walk our journey with steadfast determination,” Amy said.
