HSINCHU, Taiwan—Many Taiwanese celebrities highly enjoyed the New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s fourth show in Hsinchu on the evening of March 21, 2009, including legislator Lin Chien-Jung, who came all the way from Yilan County to Hsinchu with his family to see the show.

He said, “Shen Yun’s performance was exceptionally good. It presented the profound 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization to the audience. The show was indeed amazing. After seeing the show, I felt very happy.”

To see Shen Yun, he put aside some appointments for fear that he would miss it. After seeing the show, he said that it was really worthwhile [to come to Hsinchu].

“Shen Yun is indeed remarkable. It is such a big show with so many skilled professional performers who regard the promotion of Chinese culture as their responsibility,” he explained.

He further explained that the theme and the content of the show presented by Shen Yun was something that society really needs. He said that it was particularly good to present Chinese history chronologically, including diverse geographic and ethnic characteristics in the show appropriately, in order to perfectly present the profound implications of Chinese culture.

He added that after watching Shen Yun, he was in a good mood, and has gained more insight into Chinese culture. “We should promote Chinese culture to the entire world,” he said.

Mr. Lin Chien-Jung is the president of the Qingxi Branch of R.O.C. (Taiwan) Reserved Military Servicemen Association, three-term legislator and mayor of Yilan City, and chairman of the Yilan County Branch of Chinese Nationalist Party’ (KMT).
