On Sunday evening, August 10, Divine Performing Arts performed The Chinese Spectacular before a nearly sold out crowd at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ. The show drew critical acclaim from people from all walks of life. While the show has incredible lighting, costumes, and dance choreography, there is signifigant inner meaning to the various performances. Many people were able to grasp these inner meaning.

One such person who understood the show’s deeper content was an interior decorator by the name of Milena Weinman. She had some rather in depth commentary on the show, “Wonderful, it was really um...I’m trying to put it into words, very colorful, spiritual, it had a very special message that we should all follow. We should all aspire to be united in peace.”

Milena noted that her favorite performance was “The Power of Awareness.” In this particular piece, the Chinese communist regime is portrayed by several young men playing the part of thugs, which seems to suggest that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is more like a mafia than a legitimate government. They begin harassing and beating a few individuals who are standing up for Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and try to intimidate the masses through fear. Eventually the people as a whole rise up against the goons and send them running scared.

Milena commented on this piece by saying that, “I think that every Chinese person should hope for this, pray for this, and keep trying for this.”
