TAICHUNG, Taiwan—Lin Chialong, former Government Information Secretary and currently director of Taichung Development Association, attended the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour performance on March 4 with his wife.

He said that he could understand the message of DPA very well. “Such a performance would certainly form another kind of voice in the Chinese community.”

Mr. Lin once ran for mayor of Taichung. Even nowadays, he said that he has been continuously paying attention to persecuted groups.

“DPA infused history into dance and music. The performance level was very high.”

His wife, Liao Wan, is president of the International Orchid Council’s Taichung sector. It was her second time watching DPA with her husband. She praised DPA’s use of arts to bring out kindness toward mankind and humanity.

“Many Westerners don’t believe that such persecution can occur,” she said.

“But as long as you realize the nature of the Chinese regime, you can believe it,” added Mr. Lin.

Mrs. Liao said that she loved every program. “The quality was high. When the drums came out [referring to the first program], I was astounded. It was rather creative.”

Mr. Lin liked Dance of the Yi. He said that the dance and the costumes were adorable.

“The choreography was very special. ...  The colors were gorgeous and extremely beautiful.”
