SARASOTA, Fla.—“Magnificent and extraordinary” is how two friends described the Divine Performing Arts Show at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota, on Dec. 22.

Mrs Thoresen, a retired teacher was very excited to be at the theater: “I think it’s so lovely to be able to experience the ancient Chinese culture, and I so highly esteem it, and every selection that comes forth is grander than the one prior, and I am just so excited to be here.”

Her father was a professor in Chinese history and she was in China recently with sixteen students from a local school. Her favorite part in the first half of the show was the drummers.

“In particular the drummers… it’s so powerful, and its so expressive of the power of that dynasty, and I think it really truly brings to my heart the strength of that whole culture and that period of time; I am so grateful to be able to experience it,” said Mrs Thoresen.

Mrs Thoresen finished by saying: “It does my heart much good to be here tonight.”

Mrs Goulet, who loves ballet and different cultures, was impressed with the show.

“I like the flowers, the woman with the flowers describing the different flowers, and also the drummer.

“I think it’s magnificent. It’s a pleasure to be here; it’s an honor to see such a wonderful performance,” said Mrs Goulet.
