The United States and Iran are set to meet after both sides paused military exchanges in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said.
The June 28 strikes followed an attack on Pakistani paramilitary forces in Karachi the day before, which Islamabad blamed on the Pakistani Taliban.
The decision ends years of official hesitation and comes as relations between Israel and Turkey remain strained.
‘Both sides will stand down for now and vessels can move freely,’ a U.S. official said.
Multiple strikes were carried out by both the U.S. and Iranian militaries over the weekend.
The U.S. Central Command said the strikes were conducted in response to an Iranian drone attack that struck an oil tanker earlier on June 27.
Although Iran did not claim the attack on a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC said it had targeted American positions in the region.
The U.S. State Department published the text of the agreement, which has the backing of the United States and aims to achieve ‘lasting peace’ in the region.
Trump said a drone strike on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, attributed to Iran, was a violation of a ceasefire.
The deal follows months of fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, an internationally designated terrorist group based in Lebanon.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that any Iranian effort to interfere with shipping in the stait would create serious problems.
The nuclear watchdog said initial discussions with Tehran on inspections have barely started, and called on Iran to move quickly to allow ’strong' verification.
Rubio said Gulf States have serious reservations about the agreement and want to be kept informed throughout the negotiation process.
The U.N. International Maritime Organization said it would temporarily pause its evacuation operation pending further clarity.
