The bill to add sanctions on Russia and extend sanctions on Iran has been advancing in the Senate following the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The president said critical minerals and materials are necessary for U.S. national defense and security.

The late senator from South Carolina served in the U.S. military for 33 years and helped secure major funding for the base.

U.S. Central Command said it intercepted multiple ballistic missiles launched by the Islamic regime in an attempted surprise attack on July 28.

The procedural vote took place on the same day as Lindsey Graham’s funeral service in Washington.

Clayton will replace acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte, who was appointed after Tulsi Gabbard resigned.

Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte is expected to be replaced by Jay Clayton, whom the Senate is considering for the position.
