When an animal rescuer learned that a kitten was about to drown in a storm drain, she rushed over, and with help from firefighters and volunteers, she crawled in to rescue the tiny kitty.

In 2015, Dorella Tuckwiller, of St. Albans in West Virginia, received an email about a weeks-old kitten that was stuck in a storm drain. With rainfall filling up the sewers, Tuckwiller quickly asked for help on the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee’s Facebook page, a local animal rescue group that she set up.
