An Indian man who cycled 4,000 miles (approx. 6,500 km) from his home country to Sweden in 1977, to reunite with the love of his life, is still with his sweetheart almost 50 years later. He is sharing the secret to their unbreakable bond.
Originally from the East Indian state of Odisha, Pradyumna Kumar “PK” Mahanandia lives with his wife, Charlotte “Lotte” Von Schedvin, in the forest 12.5 miles (20 km) south of Borås, Lotte’s hometown in West Sweden. The couple have two adult children—a daughter, Emelie-Kiran, and a son, Karl-Siddhartha—and have been happily married for 47 years. And their love story has been immortalized in a book by Swedish author Per J. Andersson, now available in over 20 languages.
