A father of three has been labeled a genius for his awesome dad hack: asking his kids to draw him sleeping so he can catch a nap.

Physician Vijay Chand lives in the suburbs of Chicago with his wife, “momfluencer” and author Jyoti Chand, and their three kids: Krish, 6, Kareena, 5, and Keshav, 3 months.

“My husband is one of the good ones. He excels as a father, and it truly melts my heart,” Mrs. Chand told The Epoch Times. “Since he’s in full dad mode Friday through Sunday, he’s always finding ways to keep them occupied, and if it requires little to no effort from him, even better!”

On one inspired afternoon, Dr. Chand had the bright idea to commission drawings from his eldest children while he took a 15-minute nap on the couch. His wife, watching from the upstairs balcony, found the scene so funny that she recorded it on her phone.

“I love their bond and his silly antics, so obviously I had to film,” she said.

“[The kids] thought it was a great idea, and the pictures turned out so funny. Kareena drew him as a girl. I wish I had saved them!”

Mrs. Chand shared her clip on Instagram and praise flooded in for the physician’s “genius” nap hack.

“I truly love the positive and supportive environment in the comments. We were surprised it got so much traction and went as viral as it did,” she said, adding that her husband is now sharing more “dad hacks” to get a nap in while parenting.

In a second hilarious video, Dr. Chand naps while lying on his stomach, wearing a shirt with a racetrack printed on the back so he can “get a massage” from his kids’ toy cars.

Napping seems to be one of Dr. Chand’s specialties; every Friday night, he hosts a slumber party in the basement with his eldest children, with video games, snacks, and movies.

The kids look forward to it all week. The dad of three also has a practiced bedtime routine, including story time for his kids before he “tucks them in with tickles and cuddles.”

“He’s actually really quiet around most people but a total goofball with us. I know it’s because he’s comfortable with us and can be his weirdest self,” Mrs. Chand said.

Advising other parents, she said: “Get creative with your kids, and it’s okay to do things with them that allow you to take a little break ... even if it’s only 15 minutes!”
