Smartphones allow us to have the world in our pockets. It often seems we are more aware of what is happening thousands of miles away than in our own neighborhoods. Focusing on faraway events that we have no control over can leave us feeling powerless to make a difference. An unlikely solution can be found in the form of a down-home melody.

If we zoom out of our lives too much, we lose focus on what’s important to us. But country music reminds us of life’s focal points. The songs help us zoom back into a clearer image, showing us where we can generate meaningful impact and reclaim a sense of actionable purpose.
