OSAKA, Japan—As the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company concluded its Japanese shows in Osaka on Feb. 18, Mr. Li, a president of a Japanese multinational corporation in Japan, Korea, and China, and his wife, were delighted with the show.
Enthralled by the Chinese classical dance and the five-millennia-old Chinese culture, Mr. Li said, “DPA really is very wonderful— really, really great. It allows us to witness China’s five thousand years of history and classic culture overseas. It is a very rare and dear opportunity.”
Mr. Li’s ancestral home is in Shandong Province, yet he was born in South Korea. Since he was young, he attended Chinese schools.
“I’ve read Three Hundred Tang Poems and I particularly like Li Bai and Du Fu’s poems. Therefore I felt really at home when I saw the program The Poet’s Vision in DPA.”
Mr. Li said that DPA is “one of a kind.” It is a new and unique form of art.
“I could genuinely understand the content of DPA. The stage and the backdrops synchronized very well. The translated lyrics on the backdrops are very brilliant. People who do not understand the Chinese songs can even comprehend their meaning by looking at the backdrops. Everything is arranged so perfectly and grandly.”
