The ultimate crowd-pleaser, these crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside tots are a perfect bite-size treat that disappears in no time. Don’t forget the sauce!

Prep time: 10 min Cook time: 20 min Total time: 30 min

Makes about 40 tots

For the Tater Tots
  • 1 (32-ounce package) tater tots, thawed to room temperature
  • 1 (16-ounce) package bacon
  • Toothpicks
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1/3 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon oregano
  • Pinch black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper hot sauce, such as Frank’s RedHot
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cover a half-sheet baking pan with foil or parchment paper.

Cut each bacon strip into thirds and wrap one piece around a tater tot. Use a toothpick to secure the bacon to the tot. Repeat until all the bacon has been used.

Combine the brown sugar and chili powder in a small bowl. Roll each bacon-wrapped tot in the brown sugar mixture. Place on prepared baking pan seam side down. Repeat for each tot, placing them close together but not touching.

Bake tots for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and turn each tot over, seam side up, then bake 10 more minutes or until the bacon is crispy.

For the sauce, mix all ingredients together and refrigerate until ready to serve.
