Evan Swain, a 17-year-old high school student from Georgia, is making waves for an exceptional academic accomplishment. Not only is Evan graduating high school in spring 2020, she’s also graduating from a college program at the same time.

The high-achieving teen signed up for a dual-enrollment program after ninth grade that helped synchronize her high school and college study schedules. Thanks to Evan’s hard work and dedication, she is graduating Shiloh High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia, as an honors student.

Evan is also being awarded an associate degree in General Studies from Georgia State Perimeter.

“We’re very proud of her. It’s a lot of work,” Evan’s mother, Teddie Swain, told WSB-TV.

Meanwhile, Shiloh High School, in honor of their noteworthy graduate, proudly brandished a sign on school grounds reading, “Congratulations Evan Swain, Class of 2020.”

Going above and beyond her dual-enrollment success story, Evan has also amassed an impressive resumé of extracurricular activities. According to WSB-TV, she belongs to her school’s Spanish Honor Society and BETA Club, she is a competitive swimmer and a lifeguard, and she even works as a certified babysitter in her free time.

Evan is also a Girl Scout and has pledged time to help her local church as an assistant Sunday school teacher on a voluntary basis.

Shiloh High School, whose school motto is “Relentless Pursuit of Excellence,” announced on its website that the school will be holding a virtual graduation ceremony on May 22. As long as current quarantine restrictions allow, they will hold a live graduation ceremony two months later, on July 14.

Evan’s mother was full of high praise for her daughter, saying that the 17-year-old can achieve anything she puts her mind to. Evan’s older sister, also a gifted student, once took part in the very same dual-enrollment program that has facilitated Evan’s spring 2020 achievement.

Looking to the future, Evan’s vocational dream is to qualify as a teacher and return to her own elementary school to teach the first grade, WSB-TV reports.

To reach this goal, Evan plans to study for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education at the University of Georgia in fall 2020. The university’s “Double Dawgs” program will allow her to hopefully graduate by 2023.
