Yang Ming International Children’s Painting Competition Opens in Taiwan

The Third International Children’s Painting Competition has begun welcoming submission of entries from children of age 4 to 15.

The themes of this year’s competition are “The beauty of the sea” and “What we can do for the ocean about the global warming problem?”

Contestants are encouraged to submit one piece of art work with dimensions of no more than 21.6 x 15.7 inches, focusing on how human beings should preserve the ocean.

A variety of media can be used, including but not limited to crayons, color pencils, watercolors, and collage.

The competition has attracted more than 50,000 submissions from over 40 countries in the past years. Selected submissions are assembled into exhibition that tours around Taiwan during the following year.

Registration is open until Oct. 25, 2010.
