High school student Juliet Jacoby is slated to go to the prom this year and bought her dress from an online retailer.
When her red taffeta and lace gown arrived, it didn’t come exactly as she had hoped, as reported by Someecards. She wanted to first buy the dress for $149, but her mom bought the same dress on a different retailer for just $35 on RoseGal.com.
The dress barely looks like what she saw in the online advertisement.

“When I opened the package, I gasped and was shocked by how ugly it was. I cursed a little, and I was floored on how it looked nothing like the picture I saw!” she said, according to Yahoo.
“I FaceTimed my friend and she laughed because it was so ugly.”
According to Seventeen.com, the package arrived two weeks later and the zipper was broken.
“I waited in front of the garage door to see what my mom’s reaction was, and all she did was stand there with the most shocked face for about five seconds, then burst out laughing,” Jacoby continued. “My dad said I could still wear it to prom, but I was like, hell to the no! I will not wear this to prom.”
“I tried the dress on and the zipper was broken,” she added.
Jacoby said that she had a backup dress, so it wasn’t a total loss.
“I have learned my lesson and will probably not trust a lot of the online websites for prom dresses,” she finally told Seventeen.
