If you are skipping this year’s big parties to enjoy New Year’s Eve in the comfort of your home, it doesn’t mean your celebrations have to be boring! You can enjoy the year’s last day even in your pyjamas.

1. Game time

There are so many great games to enjoy with your friends. Pull out a board game or play charades if you want something more active and lively.

2. Watch all those films you haven’t had time for

Do you oftentimes hear yourself saying “I want to see that movie, but I haven’t had time to watch it”? An evening in with the next day off work is a good chance to catch up.

3. Bring out the old video games

Remember old DOS games? Return to childhood by finding the good old games like Pac Man or Aladdin. Some are still available on Windows or for Macs if you don’t have an old Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo system around.

4. Bake

Baking is a fun activity for the whole family or to be shared with friends, and the results are yummy too.

5. Up to the roof!

Have a roof party, with all due caution. Enjoy fireworks in your neighborhood with warm tea from atop your house.

6. Recall the best moments of the year

Whether by looking through photos, scrolling through your social media accounts, or pulling out cards or letters from the year, take time to think about the passing year and all the great moments it brought.

7. Look ahead—plan your trips for the coming year

Imagine beautiful holidays near the sea or an adventurous hitch-hiking trip around Europe. Look at the world map and pick the place you would most like to see. With a new beginning could also come new adventures and new places to explore.
