Wang Chen Earns Class Win in Chinese Dance Competition

New York—Thirty-one contestants entered the finals of the Third NTDTV International Classical Chinese Dance Competition on June 21 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York. The judges announced the final winners later in the evening. Wang Chen won the first prize for the women’s junior division

The competition is hosted by NewTang Dynasty Television, an international, multi-language TV station headquartered in New York. NTD sponsors many such competitions in different arts with the grand goal of reviving authentic Chinese traditional culture.

Wang Chen performed “Legendary Warrior” in which she gracefully portrayed the chivalrous and valiant character of a typical Chinese heroine.

Wang Chen started professional dance training when she was 11 years old. She was admitted to Feitian Art Academy in 2007. She has danced with Shenyun New York Performing Art Company, one of the three Shenyun Performing companies touring around the globe.

Wang Chen won the bronze medal in her class in last year’s International Chinese Classic Dance Competition.
