CHICAGO—Hair designer Ms. Lynnesa Lovett Bey is a Chicago native who feels that she knows a lot about design and creativity.

On Sunday December 28, she saw the Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour at Chicago’s Civic Opera House. “This show is excellent and this is the first time I’ve ever seen any show like this. I really enjoyed the colors, and the overall performance of the show. It was fantastic and it took me to China.”

The performance about the special udumbara spiritual flowers that only bloom once every three thousands years in the story, “The Udumbara’s Bloom” was especially fascinating for Ms. Bey. “I feel that I learned a lot about Chinese culture that I did not know before. For example, that there are different ethnic races within the Chinese culture, like Mongolia, and Tibet.”

Since Ms. Bey is interested in Asian culture, she was naturally very interested in coming to the show. “I would recommend this show to everyone who wishes to learn more about China’s traditional heritage.”

“The colors and the dancing were magnificent! Excellent! exclaimed Mr. Marius Popsu. He is an engineer from Romania, who brought his family and friends to enjoy the Divine Performing Arts show. “My wife Juliana and Alexia my daughter— Alexia will definitely come again to see the show, and we’ll bring our friends with us!”

Mr. Raul Diaz is a lab technologist for the State of Illinois, who lives on Chicago’s North Side and makes sure that he attends the show every year that it come to Chicago. “The show gets better and better each year. It’s a different show this year but, just as good, in fact, very good. I am very impressed by the way the dancers make those kinds of moves, they’re so limber and flexible. I was intrigued by how much this year there was more of a message of hope and tolerance, more spiritual messages. I like that!”

He also said the details of the fog coming out, and as the dancers moved their skirts the fog dissipates may be conveying more then meets the eye.

Each year Mr. Raul Diaz brings his niece, Kendra Barnes, with him to see the show. “Well, my favorite part of the show was “The Mystical Phoenix” and the “erhu” performance. My favorite instrument is the cello, and I play the violin, so I really like musical instruments. I also feel the spiritual message is stronger in this show, and I really enjoyed that.”

The elaborate designs in the outfits and the colors keep these two family members big fans of the Divine Performing Arts show, and they say that will definitely be coming back next year!
