“Honestly, …yes, the dancing, and the walking, and the choreography was awesome, but I think the storytelling was what really got to me.
“I have people I work with in China, and I’m at an age where I know about the oppression from Mao and that kind of stuff, where the storytelling of China was not really allowed anymore. I think that was the most touching part of all the pieces which got to me and made me cry.
“(Crying) It is so unfair that people cannot believe or are not supposed to believe in their own history and stories, and [they] have to believe in some doctrine.”
