Is this the most remote place on Earth? This volcanic origin island is located in South Atlantic Ocean and its name is Isle Tristan da Cunha. Tristan was discovered by Portuguese sailor Tristão da Cunha in1506. It is believed to be the most remote inhabited island in the world, lying 2,000 kilometres from nearest inhabited land. Only 300 people call it home and it takes days to travel there. To get to this island is not easy, in winter it could take up to 10 days from Cape Town, South Africa. On the island is only one town where people live rather simple life.
