EVANSVILLE, Ind.—“It’s visually exciting, very pretty,” said Kathy Cerklefskie after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts at Evansville’s Aiken Theatre at The Centre on Jan. 28.

Mrs. Cerklefskie, an office manager for Evansville’s Metropolitan Development, attended the performance with her husband, Ken.

“It’s a different experience,” he said. “It’s a unique experience of those we’ve had before. So it’s just so cultural.”

“It is—it’s a cultural enlightenment,” said Mrs. Cerklefskie in agreement.

Each year, Shen Yun travels the globe delivering its unequaled cultural experience to millions. Through music and dance, Shen Yun seeks to revive the true, divinely inspired culture of the Middle Kingdom—China—and share it with the world.

The value of Shen Yun’s message was not lost upon the Cerklefskies.

“Well, we’re learning something, I believe,” said Mrs. Cerklefskie.

“To appreciate the traditions of the 5,000 years, you know, that they’re trying to express, and they’re doing a very good job of it,” Mr. Cerklefskie said. “Explaining the prefaces for their society.”

The couple added that they would “absolutely, absolutely” suggest the performance to their family and friends.

In addition to Shen Yun’s unparalleled quality of music and dance, meticulous detail is looked after in the hand-sewn costumes, which are recreated each season, and its state-of-the-art digital backdrop provides audiences with an array of color and visual excitement.

“The thing that really jumps out of me, is it’s just visually—it pops—it’s gorgeous,” Mrs. Cerklefskie said, and Mr. Cerklefskie agreed: “It is, it’s just absolutely amazing.”

And for those who did not attend the performance, Mr. Cerklefskie said that it is an opportunity gone awry. “I would say it’s well worth the money, but more than that, you missed out on the time. Absolutely.”

“Yes, you missed out,” Mrs. Cerklefskie concluded.
