Once you have paid a visit to one or more of Tenerife’s fantastic resorts you will understand why it’s the most popular island in the Canary Islands! It’s large size and good choice of varied resorts helps to make it perfect for everyone, so whether you’re after a peaceful holiday or an active holiday, Tenerife will have something to suit you.

Playas Americas

If you’re after an unforgettable beach holiday then the resort of Playas Americas makes a great choice if you’re heading to Tenerife, thanks to its beach being one of the biggest on the whole of the island! The beach takes up pretty much the entire coastline and does not consist of black sand as you may have guessed but a light golden sand that was specially imported from Africa to help give the area a more welcoming appearance. It is soft to the touch and slopes gently into beautifully clear waters that team with small fish that are visible even from the shore. If you’re feeling active, why not take to the waters and go for a swim or try out one of the many water sports that are available in the summer months or if you really want to get up close and personal with the sea life, why not book a diving lesson and see it first-hand!

Once you head into the resort itself, you will find a superb selection of modern facilities and much more entertainment that will keep you busy including numerous restaurants, bars, internet cafes and shops as well as a huge water park and golf courses. You can also take the opportunity to go whale watching and see the coastline from the sea!

Puerto de la Cruz

Another fantastic resort to visit in Tenerife is Puerto de la Cruz. Located on the northern coast of the island, this unique town has managed to hang on to its traditional roots despite it being one of the most popular on the island. Once you arrive you will notice it’s wonderful character that spreads throughout the town in the form of narrow streets passing by cream houses with stunningly designed woodwork.

This makes the resort perfect for couples holidays but also family holidays thanks to its selection of entertainment, including a large water park and the Loro Parque zoo where you will be able to see many exotic animals and sea life including piranhas and sharks! These are a great way to stay active and keep entertained at the same time and you will also find many luscious gardens throughout the resort!

No matter which resort you choose for your Tenerife holidays, there will be plenty to keep you entertained guaranteed!
