This is a classic dinner favorite in our family. The bacon gives the sauce a distinct flavor that your family will love. A big bonus for mom is that it is easy to prepare!

Swiss Spaghetti Sauce
Serves 4 to 5

5 bacon slices, reserve 2 tablespoons of grease
1 can tomato soup
1 tomato, diced
1 pound ground beef
10 ounces dry spaghetti
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup green or red pepper
1 tablespoon sugar
1 small can tomato sauce
1/4 cup dried parsley
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup shredded parmesan

Boil spaghetti according to directions on package. Fry bacon till crisp, reserve bacon grease.

In large sauté pan, cook ground beef. Add the remaining ingredients except parmesan. Crumble bacon into pieces and add the bacon grease into sauce. Cook on low-medium heat for 15 minutes. Add more water if sauce is too thick.

When ready to serve, add parmesan. Serve with garlic bread.
