ST. LOUIS—"Its grace and beauty are outstanding!” Mrs. Day said. She and her husband, Mr. Gary Day had just attended the evening performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

The world-renowned classical Chinese dance company returned to St. Louis, gracing the stage for the first time at the Fox Theatre.

This was the first time that Mr. Day, a retired federal government official and his wife Joyce, a manager, had seen classical Chinese dance. “We are thoroughly enjoying it. I think its grace and beauty are outstanding!” said Mrs. Day

Shen Yun presents two kinds of dance in its programs. For millennia, the peoples of China from different regions have danced during festivals and celebrations to express their joy. Shen Yun also performs classical Chinese dance which is best able to bring to life the richness and depth of an ancient culture.

Mr. Day shared his appreciation, “I am enjoying it very much. I like the costumes, the color, the movement, the energy of the dancers.”

He elaborated, “It’s also very encouraging to see classical dance. That’s enjoyable. Just for the pure enthusiasm and beauty of it.”

Mrs. Day praised various elements of the show, “I think the costumes are fabulous. I think the program is very well done—to explain the stories—so I am enjoying it very much.”

She was impressed with the depth of the programs, “I appreciate the opportunity to learn more culturally about China and it’s history. I think that’s really the most interesting for me tonight, in combination with the dance in the program.”

Mrs. Day highly recommended Shen Yun to, “Dance schools, schools of dance, and the arts, and some of the college courses on cultural information and history. It would be very interesting for them.”
