It may not be snowing in all of New York City yet, but it is certainly snowing on Broadway, where Slava Polunin—the world’s most famous clown—is staging his famous “Snowshow.”

“Slava’s Snowshow” is back on Broadway in New York for only one week, and it is not an ordinary clown show. It is filled with tricks, magic, music, and games where audience are invited to participate.

Slava started performing as a clown 20 years ago and decided to expand the performance way beyond your regular clown comic fair. Slava’s clowns portray a wide array of emotions. Their touching expressions bring out the sincerity and childlike happiness in audience of all ages.

“At the end of the performance there is this fantastic transformation of everyone into kids. Grandmas are running ahead of their grandkids to catch the balloons, generals and army officers jump in their chairs. It is just a fantastic atmosphere,” he said.

The audience doesn’t merely watch the show, they get involved. The creative process is a very important part of the show. In fact, Slava himself thinks that he only gives clues, and then everyone is welcome to interpret them. For example, Slava indicates that “Clue number one is that you should follow your childhood dreams, then you are truly happy! This is one of the simplest keys to happiness. Just follow your dreams!”

Even though the show has traveled around the world and met with great success, Slava says his aspirations are not geographical. He just wants people to remember what they dreamt about when they were little and become a little happier. His clowns are beings that just insist on doing what feels right, and pursuing your sense of truth.

The show will run on In Helen Hayes Theatre in New York until Jan. 4.
