CHICAGO—Beauty and enchantment permeated the Civic Opera House in Chicago on Sunday Dec. 28 during the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) New York Company performance.

This was the first time Mr. Lame, Claims Director, saw a DPA performance.

“I love it! It’s beautiful, I think it’s wonderful. The music is wonderful, the singing too.”

He said that his favorite performance was Dragon Springs Folk Drums. “I like the piece with the drums, I thought it was wonderful.”

Linda, who came with her husband, was also intrigued by the show.

“Wonderful, colors, graceful, and how coordinated everything is, just wonderful, it’s beautiful.”

She particularly liked the digital backdrops. “I like all the ones where they come down from heaven and take care of the problems. It was in the whole backdrop. It was something I’ve never seen before, so I liked it.

“I still can’t get over the colors, I also liked the flower program. It was great, those flowers were really pretty. And, those little steps they would take, makes it look like they are just floating across the stage.

Linda was interested in the content.

“Do people in China believe that good gets rewarded and bad punished? …  [Falun Gong] being persecuted—that’s horrible. One thing I noticed about the show is faith. Seems to me like everybody was going to heaven. That was good!”

Linda’s husband bought the tickets since he was so impressed by the advertisement. He knew his wife would love it even though he did not expect to do so himself. “My husband is not the type of person to like this sort of thing, but he liked it all the way through,” said Linda.

Mr. Carlyle, a salesperson, found the show “very deep, very colorful, very multi-cultural, very good use of background, very rich.”

His favorite performance was Persecuted on a Sacred Path—"the one with the family and how the father was persecuted and passed away.”

Mr. Eirich, a DUI assessor with county courts and an educator. came to the DPA performance in search for other cultures.

“The reason I’m here is because I’m an ignorant American who needs to learn another culture. The thing is, I only know one language and it’s important for my grand children to learn other languages so they can appreciate the diversity of life. It’s important to have the Bears, the Bulls, and the Cubs, but that’s just one part of life.

“This show is one thing I need more of. It’s the variation of perfection. All of these are similarly magnificent because it’s the true sense of beauty.”
