PRAGUE, Czech Republic—Ladislav Vrchovský saw Shen Yun Performing Arts on April 20, 2026, at the Prague Congress Center.
“The performance was truly magical, breathtaking, and so captivating that I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage and the backdrop,” said Mr. Vrchovský, who, after leaving politics, made a living as a journalist, publicist, and theater critic.
Mr. Vrchovský is well aware of the evils of communism, and he was particularly moved by the segments in the performance depicting practitioners steadfastly upholding their faith in the face of persecution.
“We in the Czech Republic endured forty years of violence and brainwashing. But I don’t know how long this situation has persisted in China. It feels as though it has lasted longer than what we experienced, because the CCP seized power in 1949, while we went through ours in 1948,” Mr. Vrchovský said.
He noted that Shen Yun has a profound impact on multiple levels, not only bringing a sense of beauty but also enlightening the public and transforming hearts and minds.
“On the social level, it calls for a return to universal values associated with kindness.”
“This [Shen Yun’s influence] is self-evident, because watching such a performance could profoundly influence the minds of the Chinese people, leading them to realize: ‘It’s time to put an end to this!’”
