“It’s incredibly beautiful,” she said. “[Shen Yun] gives me numerous inspirations for creation, and I’ll apply them to my studio’s courses starting tomorrow.”
“The muscles of [Shen Yun artists’] legs and hands are very soft,” she said with praise. “[Their movements] are very elegant as if their entire bodies were re-activated by something gradually disseminating from their pure hearts to their limbs.”
“Watching [Shen Yun] can calm anxiety down, and make people feel peaceful,” she added.
The dance professional was fascinated by Shen Yun performers’ exquisite dance with very soft movements.
“This [Shen Yun’s] performance is very inspirational to me,” she said. “I wish to bring it to my creation in the future.”
“[Shen Yun’s dance] is very gentle, but it contains powerful momentum inside,” she explained. “The momentum is totally different from that in ballet, drama, and musicals.”
Classical Chinese dance, which was developed over 5,000 years, has its own systemic form of training, technique, and body of movement. Shen Yun brings this to life for modern audiences.
“The digital backdrops are truly beautiful, and they are well designed,” she added. “A performer playing the flute suddenly jumped [out of the stage], and then his image immediately appeared on the backdrops.
“It was practically a magical effect, and its overall result was excellent,” she lauded.
Shen Yun’s official website says, “Shen Yun’s dance costumes and colors are true to traditional aesthetics and styles, which bring back the styles of China’s different dynasties, regions, and ethnic groups.”
“Every piece of [Shen Yun’s] program is rather compacted so that it’s easily understandable to the audience,” she said.
