MONTERREY, Mexico—On the evening of April 25, Mexican financial investor Alfonso Sada Campos attended the third performance of the U.S.-based Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Escenario GNP Seguros Theater in Monterrey, Mexico.

A seasoned entrepreneur in the investment sector with decades of experience in trading and asset management, Mr. Sada Campos is a well-known figure in Monterrey’s financial community. Experiencing Shen Yun for the first time, he said he was immediately struck by its beauty and cultural distinctiveness.

“I liked it very much. It’s very beautiful, very lovely, very unique—this kind of thing cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. These cultures from a specific region in the East are very unique, and they are worth getting to know more deeply.”

He added that he has long been interested in different cultures and expressed a desire to visit China someday.

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired heritage and share with audiences the beauty of “China before communism.”

Mr. Sada Campos praised all of the program pieces, and the performers’ dedication and artistry.

“The dances are beautiful. You can feel in the young people the aspiration for their culture and their country, and they do it very naturally, with all their heart.”

After learning that Shen Yun’s artists practice the spiritual practice Falun Dafa, with their arts being inspired by Falun Dafa’s principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance,” Mr. Sada Campos expressed admiration for their outlook and character.

“What I admire most about the culture is its nature—the performers look pure, original, simple, humble, and full of values. I think it’s something unique, and it’s nice to learn something new that I did not know before,” he said.

Reflecting on the performance as a whole, Mr. Sada Campos said it also offered meaningful insights into how to live life.

“What these dances and this culture teach you is that life is very beautiful if you know how to enjoy it—if you know how to live it with values and honesty.”

Shen Yun also seeks to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist regime’s ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Mr. Sada Campos said that he was unaware of the issue prior to attending the performance. He expressed hope that one day, the Chinese people will be able to enjoy freedom “like in Mexico and many other countries.”
At the conclusion of the interview, he offered his sincere appreciation for the artists and their dedication.

“I want to congratulate them—they dance beautifully, and they are all very handsome and pretty, men and women alike. I admire them for traveling all over the world, leaving their families behind to share their culture with other countries. That holds a very special value.”

Shen Yun has upcoming performances in Queretaro, Mexico, April 28–29; São Paulo, Brazil, April 30–May 4; Mexico City, Mexico, May 1–3; Guadalajara, Mexico, May 6–10; and Porto Alegre, Brazil, May 9–10.
