“This is our first time watching Shen Yun. It was just phenomenal!” she said with a big smile. “I want to thank [Shen Yun] for everything that they presented. And it wasn’t just a performance—their heart shown through.”
Mr. Pendleton continued, “It was awe-inspiring. I found myself ‘awing’ all the time during the show. It covered every aspect of theater and performance, music, costume, color, and history. I was amazed with not only the performers, but the seamless interaction between the backdrop and the stage.”
The couple, who are artists themselves, were very appreciative of Shen Yun’s mission. Mrs. Pendleton said, “Preserving history is very important because it helps us understand humanity and have compassion and understanding for one another.”
The Pendletons and their five grown children are all artists. Mrs. Pendleton said, “We have pianists, composers, actors in our family, and so we know how hard it is to put on a performance like this. We were just amazed at the excellence.”
Mr. Pendleton said, “It hits 100% in every area. I mean, there’s not an area untouched that they don’t hit gold.”
The “Peacock” dance is Mrs. Pendleton’s favorite, while the “Water Sleeves” dance impressed Mr. Pendleton the most. “Amazing performance, I would say it was just perfection. Perfection, that’s the word I’m looking for,” he said.
Mrs. Pendleton is already planning ahead for the next show time. “Next year is our 50th wedding anniversary, and I want to bring our children to this as a way to celebrate our 50th.”
Mr. Pendleton added, “We have 5 grandchildren as well, we don’t want them to miss this either!”
